DFP staff all around the country join together each year to have a cuppa for cancer research. A great array of cakes, biscuits and other goodies are exchanged for donations to help research into cancer. Contributions assists the work the Cancer Council does on cancer control activities - funding research and providing information and public education, cancer prevention advice and services and support for patients and their carers. GordonCare is a leading independent not for profit organisation providing residential care for children in crisis along with access, contact and therapeutic services for separated families. DFP has undertaken to support beyondblue - the National depression initiative by way of raising awareness. beyondblue is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance misuse disorders in Australia. Each year, DFP staff support Jeans for Genes Day – the official fundraising day for the Children’s Medical Research Institute. Funds raised go towards the prevention and better treatment of genetic diseases that afflict children such as leukaemia, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and many other disorders. The annual Walk to Cure Diabetes is the JDRF's most popular event, uniting over 80,000 people in Australia to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. The Walk is fun for families, friends and workmates. DFP participates each year in raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
