Job description

Our government client is seeking an AO5 Senior Purchasing Officer to join their team. This key role will see you assist the management of various Standing Offer Arrangements and other key contracts.


As the Senior Purchasing Officer, your duties will include but will not be limited to:
  • Establishing robust relationships with suppliers and contractors focusing on competitive pricing, contract compliance, and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Communicating and working with various stakeholders.
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and information on sourcing solutions for various projects, future works, goods/services supply, contract terms and conditions, supplier performance etc.
  • Undertake and assist with strategic, complex and/or sensitive procurement activities to deliver procurement and contract management outcomes.
  • Undertake operational purchasing activities including ordering goods/services and processing a range of purchase orders and field release orders.
To be considered in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience within Procurement or Senior Purchasing (end to end procurement/contracts management)
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and other policies and legislation relating to procurement will be highly regarded.
