APS5 Project Officer | Federal Government Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated APS5 Project Officer to support the delivery of a range of strategic programs and projects within a high-performing federal government team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong project coordination, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
As an APS5 Project Officer, you will provide project management and administrative support across a range of initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and aligned with business objectives.
Working under limited direction, you will coordinate project activities, contribute to planning and reporting, undertake research and analysis, and work closely with internal stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
Location
Role available in either Campbelltown or Newcastle office locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of projects and programs.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and supporting documentation.
- Monitor project progress and report on milestones, risks and deliverables.
- Conduct research and analysis to support project planning and decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, presentations and other project documentation.
- Support project governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify project risks and issues and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Assist with monitoring, evaluation and post-implementation reviews.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across teams to achieve project and business objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience supporting projects within a government or corporate environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience preparing reports, briefs and presentations.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Sound stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
- Project coordination or project management support.
- Performance reporting and data analysis.
