About the Role
The successful candidate will join the People Services Branch (PSB) which supports managers and staff across the Department with the full range of people management services. PSB works with business areas in building confidence through strong stakeholder relationships and providing a flexible and responsive approach to business including recruitment, workplace relations, work health and safety and injury management, learning and development and diversity

Duties:
  • Manage and support the implementation of strategies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and APS and departmental polices.
  • Provide specialist and administrative support to managers and staff on a range of Human Resource processes and workplace policies consistent with legislation and Australian Public Service (APS) requirements.
  • Resolve moderately complex and complex enquiries and provide information and advice as a representative of the work area.
  • Contribute in the preparation of written and verbal updates of reports to senior management on the progress of HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams across the branch to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide training and support to team members as required.
  • Represent People Support and more broadly People Services Branch on Recruitment matters and provide guidance where required.
  • Manage and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
  • previous experience working in a Public Service recruitment environment.
  • being able to supports strategic direction by: identifying issues and problems that may impact on own work objectives and keeping self and others well informed on work progress.
  • being able to achieves results by: being responsive to changes in requirements, working within agree priorities and sharing information with others and adapts to a changing environment.
  • being able to supports productive working relationships by: building and sustaining positive relationships with team members and clients and working collaboratively and operates as an effective team member.
  • being able to displays personal drive and integrity.
This is a ongoing or non-ongoing opportunity for a current APS5 Recruitment Adviser (S26 Transfer) or a highly performing APS4 wishing to step up.
