Job description

The Role

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency based in Geelong, we are looking for an APS5 and APS6 Sourcing Officer to play a key role in effectively sourcing and managing contracts. The Sourcing Officer will support the delivery of sourcing projects, and contribute to the development of plans and implementation of solutions. They also maintain close relationship with stakeholders to understand their requirements and how they impact on contracts, statement of requirements and sourcing options from a commercial, legal and probity perspective.
 
Key responsibilities include;
  • Assist in the review of contract terms and conditions to align with legislative changes, policy updates, practices improvement or changing organisational priorities 
  • Support sourcing projects within the forward sourcing program 
  • Assist contract management teams with contract variations and extensions for moderate to complex agreements
  • Support the team to improve and develop better statement of requirements, structured negotiation practices and techniques 
  • Contribute to the implementation and management of process disciplines and management systems to track and achieve the desired results 
  • Support evaluation and negotiation teams and processes for establishing contracts at an implementation level 
 
About you

In order to be considered, candidates must be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or contract management
  • Proficient use in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Adaptable communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage sensitive issues and communicate effectively in often challenging situations
  • Ability to work within the team and adapt quickly to a changing environment
