Job description

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinician to deliver high quality, trauma informed clinical services supporting veterans and their families. About the Role

As an APS 6 Clinician, you will provide evidence based clinical services to clients with diverse and often complex needs. You will play a key role in assessment, intervention and care coordination, ensuring clients receive tailored support aligned with best-practice standards.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Deliver high quality clinical services including risk assessment, intervention, referral, and individual, couple and family counselling
  • Undertake case management and contribute to care planning to achieve positive client outcomes
  • Review client progress and adjust treatment approaches, including recommending extensions to care where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records using the Client Management System
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development, including clinical supervision
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, ethical guidelines, and organisational policies
  • Collaborate with internal clinicians, the Assistant Director, and external stakeholders to coordinate care
  • Support families and liaise with other treatment providers to ensure holistic service delivery
Additional Responsibilities

Depending on operational needs, you may also:
  • Co-facilitate group treatment and psychoeducation programs
  • Conduct intake assessments and contribute to client allocation processes
  • Engage in clinical triage and brief interventions
  • Contribute to community engagement, service promotion, and program evaluation activities
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in managing regional allocation workflows and client intake processes
About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience delivering trauma-informed, client centred care
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including risk assessments and documentation
  • Sound knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and risk escalation pathways
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to respond calmly to critical incidents
  • High level IT proficiency and confidence using clinical systems
 
Mandatory Requirements
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children Check
  • Registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration; or
  • Qualification as a Social Worker with membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); or
  • A Master’s-level counselling qualification with registration as a Clinical Counsellor with PACFA or ACA (Level 3 or 4)
