Job description

The Opportunity

On behalf of a large federal government agency, we are looking for an experienced Learning and Development Officer to join the National Contact Centre team. The contact centre is the main communication channel for people in contact with the agency.  As the Learning and Development Officer you will be responsible for preparing branch resources including training resources and delivering training and workshops to agency staff working within the contact centre.

This is a 12 month assignment and can be based in Geelong, Melbourne or Dandenong. The role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week and will pay an hourly pay rate of $58.50 per hour plus super. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to; 


  • Prepare training resources
  • Build the capacity and capability of the staff including delivering training and workshops 
  • Support the identification of issues and risks and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Identify, document and escalate issues and risks 
  • Monitor and report on progress of projects, learning design and facilitation 
  • Work with third party providers and key stakeholders to achieve outcomes and ensure consistent services across all channels 

To be considered for this role you will; 


  • Previous experience in learning and development  
  • Experience delivering training in a virtual and face to face environment 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Tertiary qualifications in Education (Desirable)
