About the role
As an APS6 Senior Communications Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing high quality communications collateral, including but not limited to media releases, media responses, speeches, presentations and more.
- Developing and executing communications strategies to support the project or team which you are assigned to.
- Other activities as required by the Assistant Manager, Media and Communications, the Director of Communications or the Agency’s Executive.
Applicants MUST be Australian citizens, with the ability to obtain and hold a baseline clearance
- A relevant degree in communications or a similar discipline and at least 5 years industry experience in media or communications roles.
- Proven experience in developing and executing communications strategies that deliver against an objective.
- Proven experience in producing communications collateral of a high quality, at a consistent pace, amid competing priorities.
- Ability to communicate with influence including highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to decipher often complex ideas and communicate them in a way that is accessible and inspirational.
- A collaborative working style that will build strong relationships within the Agency and with external stakeholders.
- High level planning and logistics skills, with strong analytical and conceptual skills.
- Proven capacity to deliver outcomes, individually and as a team member.
- Initiative, flexibility and resilience to consistently deliver outcomes in a changing environment with competing priorities.
