  • $50-$60 Per Hour + Super
The Australian Government has established a National Royal Commission to enquire into, and support the prevention of, the deaths associated with serving ADF. This commission is a key priority for the government.
 
The Role
The Web Design Officer offers Advice to various Royal Commission teams to ensure a coordinated, coherent and accessible approach for communications and how the community engages with the Commission.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Manage all facets of the Royal Commission’s website - including updates and content changes, and upload of exhibits, transcripts, witness lists and submissions.
  • Ensure the Royal Commission’s website uses best practice Search Engine Optimisation and accessible writing.
  • Work closely with the communications team to develop multimedia packages for online engagement to support the activities of the Commission.
  • Work within a team to contribute to the design and delivery of communications materials to support the Royal Commission.
  • Draw on expertise and ask for advice when required, to implement a trauma informed approach to communication and community engagement.
  • Work collaboratively across the Royal Commission, including with the policy, legal and communications teams.
  • Interstate and/or intrastate travel may be required for this position
Requirements:
  • Competency with the Microsoft Office suite, design software such as Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator, and video editing software such as Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro.
  • Demonstrated experience in web design and/or experience managing a commonwealth, state or local government or agency website.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics.
  • Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation and Drupal or other content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to work, displaying willingness to explore opportunities as they arise.
  • Possess flexibility and adaptability to manage changing work requirements and varying volumes of work.
  • Recognises the value of diverse experience, education and backgrounds, seeking input and guidance from others.
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a team that is widely dispersed/ regularly engaged in meetings and travel.
