We are currently partnering with a large South Australian public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Fees & Projects Lead for a 12‑month term contract within a high‑volume service delivery environment.
This is a senior operational leadership role, suited to an individual who enjoys leading teams, improving systems and processes, and delivering accurate, compliant financial and billing services in a complex organisation.
About the role
Reporting to a senior manager, you will lead a team of four and be responsible for overseeing fee‑related operations while also delivering projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

- Leading and managing the day‑to‑day delivery of billing, invoicing and fee‑related services
- Ensuring accuracy, compliance and integrity of financial and transactional data across systems
- Managing staff performance, capability development, cross‑skilling and succession planning
- Acting as an escalation point for complex enquiries and issues
- Interpreting contracts and agreements to ensure correct billing and reporting outcomes
- Planning, coordinating and delivering projects and business improvement initiatives
- Undertaking complex analysis and preparing reports, recommendations and briefings for senior stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining procedures, guidance material and reference documentation to support consistent service delivery
To be successful, you will bring strong leadership capability and experience working in a finance, billing, or operational service delivery environment, ideally within government or another large, regulated organisation.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant experience managing fee, billing, invoicing or payment‑related programs and services
- Proven people leadership experience, including performance management and team development
- Experience leading projects and change initiatives that improve systems and processes
- Strong knowledge of financial practices, accounting principles and governance requirements
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High‑level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise at senior levels
- An understanding of, or commitment to, Aboriginal culture and community
- Experience working with large enterprise financial or billing systems will be highly regarded
