  • Location: Parramatta/Wollongong or Newcastle offices| On-site only
  • Contract: 5 weeks (possibility of extension) | 35 hrs/week
  • Pay: $40.80/hr + super
About the Role:

Our State Government client is seeking multiple Client Services Officers. In this role, you will assist and provide oversight to privately appointed financial Managers (Private Managers), supporting them to understand their legal authority and responsibilities. You will offer information and guidance to Private Managers in relation to their role, including financial decision-making, as well as record keeping and reporting for the finances they manage. The role also involves assessing proposed decisions by Private Managers to ensure they are in the best interests of the person they support. You will manage your own caseload and use sound judgement to identify when matters should be escalated to the Senior Client Service Officer or Principal Client Service Officer where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and provide oversight to Private Managers in understanding their legal authority and responsibilities
  • Offer guidance on financial decision-making, record keeping, and reporting requirements
  • Assess proposed decisions to ensure they are in the best interests of the individual being supported
  • Manage a caseload independently with a high level of accountability
  • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to senior staff as required

About You:
  • Willingness to take part in a rotating phone roster shared fairly across the team, covering shifts between 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Willingness to have phone calls and team email accounts reviewed for quality assurance and training, and to participate in one-to-one feedback sessions
  • Understanding of key services and the customer base
  •  Experience working with and/or supporting people with disability, vulnerable individuals, or older people
