Cyber Security Architect
  • 12-month contract with possible extension
  • Location: ACT only (Candidates willing to relocate to Canberra will also be considered)
  • Must be an Australian Citizen with active NV1 Security Clearance
DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join our Federal Government client, supporting a large-scale ICT security uplift program.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and non-technical advice on security architecture best practices across departmental programs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of ICT security solutions aligned with ACSC and ASD guidelines.
  • Review and provide guidance on application and system integration designs in line with PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight.
  • Drive the implementation of Essential Eight maturity uplift across systems and stakeholders.
  • Raise awareness of cyber security risks and best practices across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of cyber security posture and compliance frameworks.
Mandatory Requirements:
  1. Must have NV1 clearance and be Canberra Based.
  2. Demonstrated Federal Government experience minimising cyber security vulnerabilities and uplifting cyber security capability through secure by design practices.
  3. Demonstrated experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services, in particular technical cyber security architecture.
  4. Demonstrated experience in reviewing and providing cyber architecture guidance on application and system integration designs relating to PSPF, ISM and in particular Essential Eight.
Desirable:
  1. Understanding of Operational Technologies (OT) environments.
