Our client, a specialist government entity, is seeking a dedicated and experienced AO4 HR Payroll Officer to join their team for an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a State Government Authority that values its employees and offers a supportive and dynamic work environment. Must have Government Payroll experience with Aurion. Ideally you will also have some HR experience within your role.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent chance for a payroll professional to join our client on a temporary basis. Working within a small, collaborative team, you will be the point of contact and support payroll processing with visibility over the pay run process, advise and support recruitment and onboarding activities and assist with general HR administration. Must have experience in interpretation of awards.

Commencing ASAP, this is a 3 month contract role with the possibility to extend. You will have the chance to contribute significantly to the efficiency and accuracy of payroll and HR operations while enjoying a balanced work-life setup.

The Role

As the AO4 HR Payroll Officer, your responsibilities will include:

• Provide point of contact and advice for payroll preparation activities, including – timesheet data accuracy, leave and allowance claims, authorisations and policy and legislative compliance

• Maintain visibility over payrun process to ensure accuracy across the organisation to ensure thorough and accurate data is provided to the external payroll processing provider

• Continuously improving personnel processes

• Providing support to the HR team as needed

• Building and managing productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

The Ideal Person

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in payroll within a Government sector, ideally you will have Aurion system experience.. You will have a proven ability to build and maintain relationships, along with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You will also have the opportunity to apply for a full time role.
