We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Financial Accountant (L7) to lead our statutory reporting and financial management functions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Financial Accountant (L7) to lead our statutory reporting and financial management functions. This senior role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee key financial processes, support audit activities, and contribute to strategic financial planning within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the statutory reporting processes, including the preparation of consolidated and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate responses to audit queries and support the preparation of responses related to the Branch’s functions and financial statements.
- Manage the preparation and submission of whole-of-government reports to other departments.
- Prepare the annual estimates for the Department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee investigations and responses to Ministerial and other inquiries, initiating follow-up actions as needed.
- Supervise and mentor team staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in statutory financial reporting and compliance.
- Strong understanding of government financial processes and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA qualification preferred.
