Safety, Health & Wellbeing Advisor
Location: East Perth
Employment Type: initially 6-month temp contract with a view to extension
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) Advisor to support the delivery of best-practice safety outcomes across our client’s organisation. This role will partner closely with directorates, project teams, and stakeholders to provide expert guidance, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in SHW performance.

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) Advisor to support the delivery of best-practice safety outcomes across our client’s organisation. This role will partner closely with directorates, project teams, and stakeholders to provide expert guidance, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in SHW performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice to directorates and project teams on the interpretation and application of corporate SHW policies, procedures, and standards
- Lead and contribute to structured reviews of SHW policies, procedures, and tools in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Analyse SHW data and trends, identify risks, and deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making
- Conduct incident investigations and internal audits, and participate in risk workshops across construction projects and corporate environments
- Manage and maintain activities within the SHW electronic reporting system for assigned areas
- Support, coach and mentor managers, workers, and safety personnel to build capability and strengthen safety practices
- Attend and contribute to safety committees, forums, and briefings

You will ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience in a Safety, Health & Wellbeing advisory role (ideally within construction or infrastructure environments)
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practice
- Experience in incident investigations, auditing, and risk management
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and build relationships across all levels of an organisation
- Strong communication and presentation skills
