About the role
As a Senior Financial Accountant Officer, you shall assist in providing business advice and support on financial planning, resource management, budgetary control, business application systems and risk management to assist in the achievement of strategic priorities on behalf of the divisions.
Applicants can either opt for a labour hire contract or non-ongoing 4 to 5 months assignment.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Mange the financial reporting, treasury management, taxation compliance, audit, and other related external compliance.
  • Providing management and oversight of general ledger and associated subsidiary ledgers.
  • Prepare accounting position papers and providing strategic financial advice, information, and analysis.
  • Reviewing and coordinating mandatory accounting requirements.
  • Preparing financial reporting for inclusion and be the central liaison point for all external audit matters.
  • Build financial capability, awareness through the identification and implementation of better practices in financial compliance and policy development to guide Commission personnel on financial matters.
Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive, trusted relationships and work collaboratively and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, an eye for detail and the ability to work across many priorities with minimal direction, including under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling, and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial resources, risk management and business planning.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in accounting.
  • Completion of CA/CPA or progress towards completion
Note:
  • The successful candidate for this role will be subject to a National Police Criminal History Check and must provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination status prior to appointment.
  • This position may require weekend work, or outside ordinary work hours.
