Senior Procurement Officer  Melbourne, VIC |  6-Month Contract + Potential Extension | Competitive Hourly Rate

We’re partnering with a well-established Federal Government organisation seeking two experienced Senior Procurement Officers to join a high-performing procurement function supporting complex and strategic procurement activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for procurement professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy managing end-to-end procurement processes across a diverse portfolio including ICT, construction, and professional services procurements.
The OpportunityWorking closely with the Procurement Operations Manager, you will play a key role in delivering compliant, high-quality procurement outcomes while managing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing end-to-end procurement and tender processes across a range of procurement categories
  • Preparing procurement documentation, evaluation reports, and approval papers
  • Supporting strategic and complex procurement activities in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules
  • Liaising with a broad range of stakeholders including legal, commercial, probity, finance, and technical teams
  • Managing panel engagements and procurement activities using existing contract frameworks
  • Contributing to procurement process improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant procurement outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Strong end-to-end procurement experience within government or a highly regulated environment
  • Experience managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Sound understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
Highly Regarded:
  • Federal Government procurement experience
  • Exposure to ICT, construction, or major services procurement
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
Baseline Security Clearance eligibility will be required for this position.
