Job description

The opportunity 

On behalf of a Federal Government Agency based in Melbourne CBD, we are looking for a Solution Architect to focus on technology solutions across a range of programs and projects. The role will assist in collating and developing technology strategies to be used across two large projects as well as developing the architecture future state. 

This is a daily rate contract, initially for 6 months with possible extension options. As the role is with a Federal Government Agency, applicants are required to be Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance. 

Responsibilities will include; 
  • Assist the Lead Architect in the creation and maintenance of technology reference artefacts
  • Assist in developing patterns and solution and architectural building blocks as required
  • Ensure high level designs are consistent with the architectural principles and reference architectures 
  • Develop and present solution architectures for projects to develop, implement, test, operate, monitor and sustain
  • Maintain key relationships with business areas across the organisation 
  • Ensure Solution Architectures defined are endorsed by the Architecture Review Group to allow implementation of the design

To be considered 
  • Hold certification in one or more solution architecture such as AWS certified solutions architect professional, MCSE
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake technology analysis within an Agile environment with experience in requirement elicitation, gathering, documentation and management
  • Experience working with a diverse stakeholder group including ICT operations and technical teams, vendors, as well as customer facing and business operations teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extensive background in technology, infrastructure and solution architecture 
  • Experience working in large complex programs 
  • Working with Office365 including Sharepoint, MS Teams and collaboration tools such as Jira and Gitlab
