Our Queensland Government client has a 4-months assignment for a WH&S Advisor to commence immediately. The successful candidate will manage the development and delivery of WHS training and information sessions for the region, including liaising with external providers when needed and supervising administration of maintenance of the regional WHS training register.

Other Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide specialist WHS&E advice, guidance and support to operational, supervisory and management staff on SMS processes, legislative requirements and emerging technologies.
- Manage and support the delivery of WHS&E audits, inspections and compliance activities.
- Lead incident and hazard investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and promoting a strong incident reporting culture across the region.
- Oversee emergency planning and response activities across offices and depots.
- Develop, implement and review Safety Management Systems, risk assessments, WHS management plans and related processes.
- Prepare and present formal WHS KPI reports to senior management and support the rehabilitation and return-to-work processes for staff.
- Drive education and capability uplift in WHS&E practices, including asbestos and lead management, through training and communication.
- Review and continuously improve Environmental and Safety Management System procedures.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience providing advice on WHS legislative compliance, including relevant legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian/International Standards.
- Strong knowledge of the construction or a similar industry, including hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering WHS programs and improvement initiatives.
- Proven experience managing staff within a complex work environment.
