Job description

The Opportunity 

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for a Senior Developer - Analytics and Visualisation to join the reporting team on a 12 month assignment. This role can be based in Richmond or Geelong and will offer hybrid work arrangements. 

The reporting team are responsible for building, delivering and maintaining a comprehensive suite of reporting and analytics. Insights from the reports are consumed to monitor risks, track progress and make data-driven decisions. 

Duties will include; 
  • Working with stakeholders to understand and document requirements through transforming raw data into reports and insights 
  • Develop and deliver high-quality reporting products 
  • Increase efficiency by creating a 'single source of truth' for all reporting 
  • Manage reporting projects end to end
  • Develop reports according to style guides, user experience, accessibility standards and coding and technical standards
  • Ensure all products are well-tested and documented 

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate; 
  • Expert level SQL and/or SAS skills with a minimum 8 years experience in the BI/Data arena
  • Experience in python building analytical assets such as forecasting, predictive modelling and optimisation with be highly regarded 
  • Experience working with raw data, drawing compelling and actionable insights via visualisation 
    • Experience with tools such as SAS Viya, Tableau, Qlikview 
  • Experience with testing and validating data, designing products with accessibility and user experience in mind
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CI/CD Practices, Project tracking software (Ex- JIRA) and version control (GIT, Bitbucket).
