Job description

Job Title: Senior Planner/Scheduler
Employer: DFP Recruitment client
Position Type: Full time 12-month role labour hire contract
Pay Rate: Competative
Location: Bentley, WA 6102
Role Overview: To establish project schedules, monitor and analyse progress against the baseline, and reschedule as required. Ensure alignment to key project documentation, i.e. project scope, project WBS and project delivery/execution strategy.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in accordance with the clients values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding Safety, Team, Integrity, and Customer (STIC).
  • Establish and maintain the project schedule – this includes setting up multi-level schedules in Primavera P6, resource and/or quantity loading schedules to determine appropriate manning, ramp-up, etc. and determine the appropriate level of detail for schedules used for the project. Ensure the project schedule aligns to the project scope, project WBS and project delivery/execution strategy.
  • Determine and establish the Critical Path. Ensuring critical path reflects project execution strategy
  • Monitor and report progress and provide regular updated schedules – including resource histograms, progress curves and current vs baseline comparisons, impact on critical path (float analysis). Identifying and implementing schedule slippage mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain the project schedule for all elements of work, ensure activities are updated accurately and on a regular basis as outlined in the Project Controls Plan (PCP).
  • Establish the baseline project schedule ensuring alignment to project scope, project WBS ad project delivery/execution strategy. Ensure progress measurement can be achieved – calculation of earned value (EV), Schedule Performance Indicator (SPI) and planned vs earned progress.
  • Provide regular schedule updates and lookaheads. Take direction on tasks required to be completed on any particular level.
  • Collaborate to achieve best possible outcomes for projects and take direction and guidance.
  • Collaborate to formulate plans for the project and develop relationships that can be accessed to provide support and assistance.
  • Liaise with regards to scope changes, cashflow, manpower requirements, slippages in time etc.
  • Assist immediate supervisor/manager or project manager in providing feedback on project status.
  • Communicate project requirements to ensure timely and accurate information to achieve project outcomes.
  • Provide regular schedule updates and lookaheads. Take direction on tasks required to be completed on any particular level.

 Essential to be successful in this role;
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Finance and/or experience in a related technical field and 7 years' experience
  • If no formal education, 10 years previous work experience in Project Planning/Scheduling positions
  • Relevant experience in Owners Team, EPCM, EPC environments
  • Experience in using proprietary planning software (Primavera P6)
