Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse and Purchasing Officer for a 6-12 month contract in their Kwinana office.  

Position: Warehouse & Purchasing Officer  

Rate: $48.45 per hour plus Super  

Hours per week: 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday 
Contract duration: 6 to 12 months 
Commencement: ASAP notice periods considered 
Location: Kwinana, WA  

Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loading included)  

Duties and responsibilities 
Reporting to the Purchasing & Warehouse Supervisor, the role is responsible for the management of the warehouse distribution, involving inventory, purchasing and inventory of supply contracts.  

Key duties include:
Undertake purchasing and distribution of goods and services for the Outer Harbour in accordance with supply policies and procedures. 
Coordinate the disposal process for the Outer Harbour including the coordination and control of all warehouse assets and equipment. 
Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with the annual Outer Harbour stocktake. 
Liaise with supplier sales representatives. 
Arrange for servicing and maintenance of equipment and plant. 
Expediate purchase orders for stock items and direct supply, ensuring the end user is notified of the delivery and availability dates.   

Qualifications and Experience 
Demonstrated experience with warehouse management responsibilities relating to materials management. 
Demonstrated experience with computerised supply systems in relation to procurement, contract and materials management. 
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. 
Well-developed customer and quality service focus. 
Demonstrated ability to work safely within a team environment or independently with minimum supervision. 
Current “LF” Class Forklift Operators licence. 
Experience with Oracle would be highly desirable.
