Our State Government client is currently seeking an experienced AO3 Business Support Officer to join their team based in Rockhampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the effective delivery of government services.

Position Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to provide high-level administrative and business support to ensure the efficient delivery of services in line with operational plans and objectives. You will work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating the ability to work autonomously, often within tight timeframes. The role may require working across multiple business areas as operationally required.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing efficient, professional, and high-quality customer service
  • Managing travel arrangements including flights, accommodation, charters, ferries, and car hire within required timeframes
  • Monitoring and managing internal and external correspondence and telephone enquiries, ensuring timely responses
  • Working effectively in a fast-paced environment with KPIs and performance monitoring mechanisms
  • Liaising with industry representatives, local suppliers, and internal and external stakeholders to support timely service delivery
  • Demonstrating professionalism and contributing positively to team culture while undertaking recurring administrative tasks
  • Supporting customer satisfaction by delivering outcomes that meet both customer and business objectives
  • Maintaining high levels of accuracy when preparing documents, reports, and updating records and information systems (including Ellipse and Microsoft Office)
  • Using initiative to appropriately manage enquiries to senior staff in their absence
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving procedures, manuals, and registers
  • Undertaking general administrative duties as required
