Our client is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for supporting a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. 

About the Team

The Executive and Corporate Communications team provides strategic advice, support and content development for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to support their internal and external communication and engagement activity.
Through effective management and ongoing improvement of the Agency’s corporate communication channels, the team also supports the delivery of a quality Scheme by ensuring the Agency’s staff and partners are informed and participants, providers, and the broader sector receive up to date information.

About the Role
The Executive and Corporate Communications Officer will:
  • Contribute to the development and production of communications materials, in consultation with internal stakeholders, to meet tight timeframes and deliver quality results under pressure.
  • Develop and implement communication activities to ensure employees have access to timely, accurate and insightful information delivered across a variety of channels.
  • Ensure all communication materials are accessible and align with the Agency style and brand guidelines.
  • Produce content for use across a variety of internal and external channels including newsletters, the intranet, Agency website and talking points for staff and partners, and assist in the delivery of content.
  • Manage correspondence through team inboxes, including actioning requests or triaging requests to relevant team members for action.
  • Provide strategic communication advice to internal stakeholders to support the Agency’s corporate plan.
Desirable Skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in public affairs, media or marketing, journalism, communications or public relations and/or equivalent experience
  • SharePoint or similar content management system experience
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 and Plain English writing experience
  • Experience working with people with disability.
