About the Organisation
 
A large and pivotal federal agency responsible for the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects and future programs.
 
About the role
 
The section is responsible for assessing applications and ensuring compliance with scheme requirements through communication and outreach, and detecting and responding to non-compliance
  • Undertake assessments of scheme applications for eligibility and determine and report on scheme application compliance with legislation against established procedures.
  • Undertake more complex technical application verification tasks. Mentor junior staff and conduct training area processes, including the supervision of technical application verification tasks.
  • Prepare well-researched written material including assessments, correspondence, briefs, standard operating procedures and other technical information in accordance with documented assessment and/or business procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients to explain elements of the relevant legislation, method determinations and assessment.
  • Educate scheme participants of their rights and obligations regarding schemes administered agency.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment guidance and tools.
  • Contribute positively to the risk management process, strategic planning and decision making within the work area.
Skills and Experience
 
Applicants MUST have an active baseline clearance to be eligible for this position.
  • Qualifications in environmental science (including ecology) is highly desirable.
  • Experience using geospatial data software, such as ArcGIS Pro will be highly regarded.
  • Prior experience in a regulatory environment is desirable.
