This Federal Government Department enhances Australia’s agricultural industries and trade and manages the threat of biosecurity risks to the Nation.
 
About the role 
As the APS6 Senior Project Officer, working within the Innovation, Research and Education program of the Biosecurity Strategy and Reform Division, you will focus on the communications and engagement activities of the division. Specifically, you will be responsible for engaging external stakeholders, private business, start-ups, universities, and government to create awareness and interest in the program’s activities.
 
You’ll get to:
The successful candidate will have proven track record of communications and engagement and can express this through:
  • Written articles for the target audience through media release and subscription channels.
  • Lead internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to webinars to share insights and updates.
  • Engage with start-ups / universities / private business / government.
  • Work on graphic design & social media projects and work closely with Departments digital content creation team.
  • Engage both corporate and the public.
  • Build a subscription base across newsletters and other channels.
  • Provide advice, support the team growth and broader objectives.

About you
:
You’ll bring your track record of success in a previous similar role:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to understand the audience and synthesise and present complex information in a variety of mediums.
  • High level project management skills, including the ability to think strategically, and identify and proactively implement effective solutions.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation/communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, self-drive and initiative.
  • Flexibility, resilience and be adaptable in managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of government and non-government stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver a diverse range of tasks.
  • Experience in MS Suite, Adobe inDesign and Adobe Illustrator
To be considered for this contracting opportunity, you must:
  • Hold a Baseline Clearance or able to obtain.
  • Be an Australian Citizen.
