Job description

We are seeking an experienced Communications Officer to join the Internal Communications team of a Federal Government Agency based in Geelong. This is an APS6 level equivalent paying $60.26 per hour plus super and will be a 12 month assignment working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:
  • Draft clear, concise and effective messaging for different audiences, including talking points and speeches
  • Contribute towards the development and delivery of communication plans, progressing approvals and coordination of collateral
  • Identify and develop stakeholder relationships
  • Evaluate the impact of communications 
  • Lead and support team  members with administration, technical and procedural tasks
About you

You will have experience in the preparation and implementation of strategic communication products along with the ability to work in a fast paced workplace which delivers high-quality contents, often within short timeframes.

In addition, you present with:
  • Relevant experience in communications or similar
  • Championing plain English and accessible communications 
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards.
  • Passionate about delivering best practice, inclusive and accessible communication.
