About the Organisation
A  Federal Government Council centrally located in Canberra dealing with health and medical research related matters.
 
We are looking for people who are:
We are seeking Project Officers for Governance, Regulation and Secretariat Support and Research Administration sections.
This Branch is responsible for research ethics, integrity, strategic projects, targeted and priority driven funding schemes and working with international investment partners. The Branch is also responsible for strategic planning, delivery of key leadership meetings, and corporate governance. 

Governance, Regulation & Secretariat Support Section

The Governance, Regulation and Secretariat Support section is responsible for:
  • Internal governance — facilitation of Freedom of Information applications; internal audit, risk review and management, delegation oversight, fraud and privacy policy oversight and stakeholder feedback/complaints investigations
  • Strategic planning — Portfolio Budget Statements, Corporate Plan, Business Plan, Annual Report, and the agency’s overarching governance framework
  • Secretariat support — to Council, all Principal Committees, and a range of section 39 and internal committees, including agenda, paper and minute facilitation and coordination; logistical and event management; and liaison with staff and members
  • Projects — delivering and managing the Portfolio Project Office, revising ethical guidelines for new technology
 
The successful applicants will undertake a range of responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to:
  • assist in the administration of the Commonwealth’s obligations under the Research
  • help organise and facilitate meetings and workshops on various elements of the embryo research licensing scheme, including agenda and paper preparation and liaising with participants
  • analyse information from licence holders and support the development of evidence-based reporting and advice to and senior executives
  • work with the team to draft stakeholder correspondence and other documents, this may also include correspondence related to internal governance, strategic planning and projects
  • communicate effectively and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve team objectives across a range of the section’s responsibilities
  • work across the team to support other outcomes as needed.
The Research Administration position responsibilities may also include:
  • processing and managing financial statements
  • monitoring compliance and following up overdue reports
  • data integrity checking using excel
  • reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures and
  • assisting with the grantee variations in accordance with the relevant policies
Desirable capabilities
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • Stakeholder engagement and customer service experience.
  • Project administration experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a health science/health policy related field.
