Our State Government Client is currently seeking a motivated Business Analyst who is passionate about making a difference to join their team.
The Business Analyst will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for digital product definition, design, development, implementation, and delivery. The role is responsible for reviewing and analysing business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify and document changes for business solutions and enhancements for Digital assets.

Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and analysing business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify and document changes for business solutions and enhancements. 
  • Consulting and negotiating with diverse stakeholders including vendors and driving outcomes. Engage with stakeholders to define, analyse and document business and customer intentions, services, processes and information need to develop a business case to support a solid design and solution for delivery of the project.
  • Managing deliverables independently against rapidly shifting priorities to respond to internal and external demands.
  • Undertake discovery work with stakeholders such as current and future state analysis (customer, business and technology) to identify gaps and challenges with the current service delivery.
  • Contribute to customer insights reports and journey maps as well as solution design deliverables with the Project Team, including analysis of options.
  • Contribute to Business Case development, including defining, analysing and documenting detailed requirements.
  • Manage and develop stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and risks/issues management to define business requirements and trends to enable informed business decisions and service level improvements.
  • Lead the articulation of business requirements and facilitation of business and system solutions,gathering, specifications, change management, user acceptance testing, training) to provide plain language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences
Skills and Experience Required

The Business Analyst will have the following abilities, skills, and experience:

Mandatory:
  • 5+ years as Business Analyst.
  • Business analysis skills and experience in detailed analysis and understanding of the functional requirements and business process documentation, including the tracking of functional and process changes.
  • Strong experience in customer experience and human centered design thinking particular with customer profiling and journey mapping work.
  • Consulting and negotiating with diverse stakeholders, including vendors, and driving outcomes within acceptable costs and timelines. The role may require onsite engagement with stakeholders.
  • Managing deliverables independently against rapidly shifting priorities to respond to internal and external demands.
  • Extensive experience in using Atlassian tool set including JIRA, Confluence and Portfolio.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and success with meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • An understanding of Testing Methodology and processes with working experience in Waterfall and Agile methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight project timeframes.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in the Government sector
  • Previous experience with other Justice Sector Agencies.
  • Qualifications in a relevant area and/ or demonstrated professional experience in an equivalent role.
  • Previous experience with software integration or application development.
