Infrastructure Engineer
Our Fed Gov client is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
Must be an Australian Citizen with an NV1 or eligibility to obtain NV1 clearance.

Our Fed Gov client is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
Must be an Australian Citizen with an NV1 or eligibility to obtain NV1 clearance.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Configuration & Administration of Microsoft Windows Server and its various roles (e.g. AD & ADFS, web server)
- Administration, optimisation, and problem resolution related to Linux based servers (Ubuntu / RHEL)
- Scripting – PowerShell etc
- Virtualisation – VMware vSphere
- Database Platform – SQL Server (with focus on optimisation, version upgrades, consolidation and virtualisation)
- Storage and Backup – Dell technology including Networker & Isilon.
The Services, delivered include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide Infrastructure Engineer/ Systems Administrator services to assist in the deployment and configuration of solutions into the client’s ICT environment.
- Provide technical direction / advice to vendors performing professional services on behalf of the client.
- Design and configure infrastructure to support business applications.
- Provide technical leadership where relevant.
- Work effectively in a small team environment.
- Proven experience in the design, configuration & support of MS Windows based ICT infrastructure services.
- Proven experience in implementing complex business solutions that are hosted on infrastructure / cloud services and specifically the ability to identify and resolve:
- Technical & security requirements.
- Test considerations.
- Operational concerns; and
- System constraints
- Experience in complying with security assessments, systems configuration and change management processes and documentation standard in the Federal Government sector (especially in areas relating to national security).
- Demonstrated expert experience managing Ubuntu and / or Red Hat systems (using Satellite).
- Experience in infrastructure engineering and automation using Ansible and various automation engines.
- Experience with containers and/or container orchestration.
- Experience in security management such as WSUS, SCCM, Nessus, Nmap, SELinux, and Firewall management.
