DFP Recruitment is a preferred supplier for Federal Government and is proudly working with our client who is seeking a Media and Public Affairs Advisor. The role of the Department is to deliver an approach to reduce disaster risk, plan, prepare for and respond to all hazards across the emergency management continuum.
As the Advisor, you will provide media, crisis communications and public affairs advice and support.
Responsibilities will include:

As the Advisor, you will provide media, crisis communications and public affairs advice and support.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the development of media strategy, media responses, media releases, talking points, speeches on behalf of the Agency, Minister and Prime Minister.
- Undertake media monitoring and reporting.
- Assist in the development of proactive media opportunities.
- Assist with the management of media enquiries.
- Stakeholder engagement.
- A degree of diploma in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with drafting media releases, speeches and other media products
- Strong organisational skills
- Project management experience of media strategies within tight deadlines
- Full Time Hours - 37.5 hours per week
- Non-Ongoing Contract, 18 months
- Salary range: $77642 - $83632 + 15.4% super
