Job description

DFP Recruitment Perth is seeking a procurement category manager for our client to work with Western Australia's largest and busiest general cargo port located in Fremantle.
This is a casual opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week for 6 months - with a possibility of extension.

Key Duties:
  • Strategic procurement
  • Administration of associated asset maintenance services contracts
  • Experience coaching self, team members and stakeholders through significant organisational change
The client is seeking the following to be suitable:
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification and/or commercial experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Strategic Procurement, Commerce) or progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Strategic Procurement, Commerce)**We are also open to consider candidates with Engineering or Project Management backgrounds/qualifications who want to move more into a procurement role
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in Procurement Category Management
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in the planning, development and/or management of high risk and complex contracts
Demonstrated ability to:
  • Deliver to timeframes in a reasonably pressured environment given multiple competing priorities, and stakeholder needs
  • Work across multiple business systems and a combination of manual environments and systems
  • Strategically assess, plan, act and deliver
  • Engage and build relationships with buyers and suppliers
  • Resilience
