About the Role:
The Senior Business Advisor delivers expert business and financial advisory services, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. This role is responsible for developing financial reports, coordinating funding arrangements, and preparing comprehensive business cases, while providing high-level accounting support to ensure accurate account reconciliation and adherence to financial reporting standards.
Key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop monthly financial management reports and statements to inform decision-making and address budget variances.
- Provide expert financial advice and develop budgets for assigned areas, ensuring alignment with departmental performance requirements.
- Conduct financial performance analysis to support management in understanding current and future business performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage competing business requests and deliver timely financial insights.
- Expertise in a management reporting, budgeting and Finance business partnering role.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting principles and practices
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive relevant practical experience and eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
- Knowledge of the application of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, Treasurer's Directions and Australian Accounting Standards, with a broad understanding of relevant Government policies
