We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure and System Administrator.
The Senior Infrastructure and System Administrator (SIA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure in an on-prem environment.
Responsibilities include;
- Manage and maintain the infrastructure and systems deployed in a complex environment consisting of Windows, Linux, VM Ware
- Participate in technical research to enable innovation within the infrastructure
- Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to company procedures and processes
- Assist the project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of projects
- Accountable for Infrastructure, Storage, Linux and Windows systems hosted in a VM Ware environment that support infrastructure; Linux, Windows and Application systems; Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations, support and maintenance.
- Work with application support, network support and DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve issues as required
- Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Perform daily system monitoring and regular security monitoring
- Perform daily backup operations
- Provide level 2 and level 3 support for systems
To be considered you will demonstrate;
- Extensive experience as an Infrastructure Administrator managing and maintaining an on-prem environment
- Familiarity and experience with cloud environments would be desirable
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft would be advantageous
- Experience in infrastructure and operations hardware infrastructure such as Blade servers, Server Enclosures, Storage, backup appliances etc.
- Expert in Systems Administration of Windows, Linux, Oracle Linux in physical and virtualised environment
- Expert in VM Ware virtualisation platform
- Experience in working with Windows and Linux Data centre editions
- Experience in managing, maintenance of Windows Active Directory
