Systems Administrator

Hourly rate: $35-45 per hour plus Super
Duration: 6 months
Hours: Full-time
Location: Fremantle WA
Type: Temporary contract assignment

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator for a 6 month contract assignment in Fremantle, Western Australia.

THE ROLE
The primary aspect of this role is to manage the IT storage and compute infrastructure including both Cloud and on-premise infrastructure (comprised of approximately 200 Servers) to deliver consistent and reliable services across the organization. 
 
The role also manages the windows based, end user computing environment comprised of around 400 PCs using the relevant tools to create a consistent computing experience for Fremantle Port’s staff. 
  
The role provides guidance and technical expertise to the team while adhering to KPIs, action plans and other targets 
  
 Key Duties: 
  • Backup and Restoration activities 
  • Administration of the Office 365 environment
  • Application packaging and deployment using SCCM
  • Administration of the Active Directory environment 
  • Creation and decommissioning of VM based application and database servers in cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Implementation of changes to the Azure cloud and on-premise computing infrastructure
  • Security and vulnerability Remediation activities
 
Other Duties: 
  • Resolution of incidents escalated by Tier 1 & 2 Support teams
  • Fulfilment of requests
 
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Substantial knowledge and experience with Azure, VMware, Veeam and Office 365 environments
  • Substantial knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows in a managed operating environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory
  • Knowledge and experience in PowerShell
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL Database Infrastructure
  • Knowledge and experience with IIS and Exchange servers
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in SOE (Standard Operating Environment), and application packaging, management and distribution using Microsoft SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager).
  • Knowledge of Pure storage and Qorestor backup environments
  • High level of oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills and experience working in a team environment.
  • Proven technical computing research and analytical skills and ability to recommend improvements and solutions.
  • The ability to work within Cyber security frameworks and best practices
