We are excited to be partnering with our State Government client in engaging an AO6 Senior Advisor (WHS and Rail Safety Systems). Working within their Infrastructure Delivery Office you will contribute to a safe, efficient, and effective network, meeting current and future needs by improving capacity, reliability, and safety. Reporting to the Manager you will take the lead in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Rail and WHS safety assurance and reporting processes for the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement policies, guidelines, procedures, programs, and initiatives to support safety processes ensuring compliance with legislation and standards.
- Implement the Safety Assurance activity program and monitor for trends and organisational learning opportunities.
- Maintain oversight of safety assurance activities by contracted entities and project personnel.
- Prepare and present regular reports on safety assurance and management activities to the leadership team.
- Lead and support safety management activities, including risk assessment , safety observations and risk mitigation planning.
- Tertiary qualification in a Health and Safety, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience working on large rail or major infrastructure projects
- ICAM lead investigator (Preferred)
- Internal Auditor qualifications (Preferred)
- Knowledge of relevant WHS acts, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines and AS/ISO standards and systems
- Experience of or knowledge of working with regulatory bodies including ONRSR, OFSC
- Excellent analytical skills; the ability to identify trends and risks in safety issues, and develop proactive strategies for issues management and mitigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively plan, implement, and manage safety activities, as well as to provide strategic advice to senior management.
