Our federal government client is seeking an APS5 Case Coordinator for an initial 6-12 month max-term contract with possible 12 month extension in their Perth CBD office.
Rate: $44.38 per hour plus 15.4% Superannuation (equates to $86,541 per annum)
Location: Perth CBD
Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 6-12 months with possible extension
Type: Max-term contract (annual, sick and flex leave entitlements included)
Work From Home: Office based only - No WFH flexibility

The role
The National Redress Scheme is seeking enthusiastic and empathic individuals with great communication skills to join their Indigenous Service Delivery Stream (ISDS) team in the Contact & ISDS Section, Service Delivery Branch. The focus of the Contact & ISDS Section is to make a positive difference in the lives of Redress applicants while delivering outcomes for the Scheme.
The ISDS team provide culturally appropriate case management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants aged 55 and over, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants who request support through the ISDS team.
ISDS Case Coordinators interact directly with applicants and applications, drawing on a range of resources and services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants through the redress application process.

- apply the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 and relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to all interactions
- under limited direction, be accountable for organising workflow and escalating risks and issues when needed
- provide culturally appropriate support through the application process, to assist applicants and their Redress Support Services
- communicate with applicants confidently using trauma informed principles
- work as part of a team, managing a case load of sensitive and complex applications
- use case management software to progress applications and keep accurate and comprehensive records
Our ideal candidate:
- demonstrates understanding of the issues affecting experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities
- ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- applies legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements
- understands trauma informed principles and their importance in providing a high level service
- communicates confidently and presents verbal and written messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner
- demonstrates high level accuracy and attention to detail in the processing and recording of information
- has the ability to self manage in a complex, changing environment with a high workload
- demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving with a solution focused approach.
- Australian citizen
- Current or ability to obtain baseline federal clearance
- Experience with case coordination in a call centre
- Trauma-informed training and experience
