The role
In this role you will be required to work with both internal and external stakeholders to help implement and maintain a Federal Government scheme across the Geelong region.
As a Provider Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for engaging with people with disabilities, their families and carers to understand their needs and work with them to explain how the scheme will work.

As a Provider Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for engaging with people with disabilities, their families and carers to understand their needs and work with them to explain how the scheme will work.
You will:
- Assist with the design and implementation of initiatives for the Region working closely with the State/Territory Government, the disability sector, and others.
- Understand, communicate, and engage with people with disability, their families, and carers across the region.
- Work closely with service providers
Responsibilities include:
- Being a contact for providers to support the provider market and department’s provider process, ensuring engagement and satisfaction within the process
- Work with stakeholders, including taking the lead on specific issues with State and Local Governments, providers, carers, people with disability, and mainstream organisations, addressing local market and provider challenges.
- Work with other Agency staff, prioritising all office engagement and communications to align to business imperatives and manage risks associated with stakeholder relationships proactively and as they emerge over time.
- Assist with the strategic planning and leadership of community and sector engagement to enhance local capabilities for participation.
- Undertaking project management and delivery of provider engagement approaches.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar field
- Proficient use in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
- Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to engage in negotiation with providers
- Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment.
