About the Organisation
This is a small Federal department working alongside a larger Agency to support past and present serving members.
 
About the role
Working in collaboration with the Mental & Social Health Programs Branch (MSHP), the Senior Program/Project Officer will support the Branch in the provision of program & project management and reporting and be responsible for the following activities:
 
Manage programs and projects, including supporting implementation of continuous program improvement priorities.

  • Be responsible for coordinating program/project management activities, including the development of project documentation, maintenance of records, and reporting on program/project progress and outcomes.
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities for the program/project including briefings and reporting to support the responsible officers to meet program/project delivery requirements.
  • Provide support to contract management and procurement activities related to section-led and cross sectional projects and initiatives.
  • The development and writing of program/project briefs, executive briefs and procedures; and
  • Update and coordinate file management for project documentation and supporting information to support responsible officers
MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience managing government programs and projects
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in government writing e.g. briefs, submissions and reports
  • Experience with building and maintaining relationships and negotiating outcomes
  • An ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • Adaptability, resilience and flexibility in the face of changing priorities
  • Mature judgement and professionalism
