Role responsibilities
Defect Management & Triage
- Lead end-to-end defect management across multiple Agile squads, ensuring timely identification, prioritisation, resolution, and closure of defects.
- Drive daily triage sessions with cross-functional teams—including developers, testers, product owners, and stakeholders—to assess impact, severity, and ownership of issues.
- Monitor defect trends and conduct root cause analysis to uncover recurring issues, informing continuous improvement efforts and raising overall product quality.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all defect-related communication across 10 Agile squads and system integrator.
- Escalate critical or blocking defects to program leadership and contribute to Go/No-Go readiness assessments.
- UtiliseIRA and Xray to manage defect work-flows, ensuring real-time visibility and generating actionable dashboards for stakeholders.
- Produce and maintain weekly defect status reports, including metrics on defect aging, reopen rates, and fix turnaround KPIs.
- Provide guidance on defect prevention strategies, enhanced test coverage, and the implementation of quality gates during sprints.
- Mentor junior QA and test analysts in effective defect documentation, reproduction techniques, and root cause analysis.
- 5+ years in defect/test management roles within large Agile programs
- Deep experience with Sales force platforms and advanced expertise in Jira and Xray.
- Strong understanding of defect metrics (severity, priority, fix rate, reopen rate) and their implications on delivery risk and familiarity with SIT, UAT, and production warranty cycles in large-scale digital transformations
- Proven leadership in defect governance, facilitating high-pressure forums to drive collaborative problem solving and issue resolution.
- Sector experience in Government and Disability/Health-related domains, with an understanding of policy, compliance, and user-centered service delivery.
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD environments, including integration testing strategies and automated deployment pipelines to support agile development work flows.
