About the Organisation
This is a large federal Government department. This team has a focus on delivering accurate and up to date educational information and support.
 
About the role
 
This intergovernmental body charged with implementing a Educational Reform Agenda as described by the Agreement. This body is supported by the TWG and PWG to progress work on both the school outcomes measure and the attendance and enrolment measure. The working groups are made up of Commonwealth and State officers from each jurisdiction with relevant subject matter expertise and may include external participants where relevant, including (for example) external consultants.
 
The Secretariat has responsibility for managing the Secretariat mailbox and providing administrative support. The Contractor will manage work including:
  • Managing each group’s forward meeting schedule
  • Scheduling internal pre-briefs and debriefs
  • Maintaining membership and attendee lists
  • Coordinating SES briefings and talking points across teams
  • Compiling, clearing and circulating action items
  • Coordinating agendas and papers across teams
  • Maintaining decision register
  • Notetaking in meetings, recording actions and decisions
  • Setting deadlines, QA and distributing papers
  • Ability to work independently and lead a small team to effectively manage Secretariat priorities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate verbally and in writing, clearly and effectively.
Stakeholder engagement skills, including ability to:
  • develop and manage a range of stakeholder relationships.
  • collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation. o Represent the views of the agency at meetings and other forums.  
Desired
Previous experience in Commonwealth and State negotiations and/or Secretariat experience
