A Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced EL2 Actuary for a senior leadership position. This role provides strategic oversight, high-level actuarial advice, and leadership across complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply actuarial and insurance-based techniques to project Scheme costs.
- Respond to requests for modelling and potential interpretations of relevant legislation.
- Develop and update actuarial valuation models and associated monitoring and management reports.
- Evaluate and analyse policy decisions.
- Provide statistical and actuarial advice to senior management and stakeholders.
- Perform reporting, analysis, and data management activities as required.
- Extract data from Information Systems and undertake data linkage, cleaning, and quality analysis.
- Provide actionable insights to support the Agency’s corporate priorities based on statistical results.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, or Statistics, and an Associate qualification with significant progress towards Fellowship.
- 10–15+ years of actuarial experience.
- One-page pitch addressing all essential criteria (approx. 5000 characters).
- Rates reflect skills and experience; negotiation may occur during selection.
