About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function for the KBT Project. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, and strategic alignment of all technical outputs throughout the project lifecycle.
As the lead technical authority, you will oversee a multi-disciplinary engineering effort, personally assess and analyse engineering designs, and progressively manage a growing engineering team. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external design providers, and industry suppliers to ensure the project meets its technical, operational, and strategic objectives.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical delivery of the KBT Project, ensuring all engineering outputs meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Provide engineering support and client-side feedback to external design providers.
- Ensure all technical work complies with FPA engineering standards and relevant Australian standards and guidelines.
- Review and validate engineering designs to ensure they are fit for purpose and aligned with the project’s business case.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, work schedules, and contribute to tender documentation.
- Coordinate engineering reviews, trade-off studies, and feedback loops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate the quality of key engineering deliverables at project milestones.
- Determine internal resourcing needs and manage the engineering team as the project progresses.
- Support procurement activities by liaising with suppliers to ensure correct asset specifications.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Bachelor’s degree or higher).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering within a project environment (owner’s team experience preferred).
- Experience in materials handling facilities; exposure to port facilities is advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong background in front-end engineering design and technical project leadership.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
