Job description

Position: Permit Room Officer  

DFP Perth are seeking an experienced Permit Room Officer to engage on a temporary contract with a State Government agency based in Kwinana. 

Start Date: ASAP - Notice Periods Considered 
Length of Assignment: 2 months – possibility of extension  
Location: Kwinana, 6167 
Hours:  3/2 2/3 (Monday to Friday) roster 12-hour shifts 

Role Description 
 
The Permit Room Officer coordinates work permits to ensure the safety of all personnel performing work at the Outer Harbour. Key responsibilities include: 
  • Reviewing and authorizing Permit to Work forms, ensuring completeness and signatures from all relevant parties. 
  • Ensuring appropriate risk management measures are in place for all Permit to Work forms. 
  • Coordinating isolations of plant and equipment with relevant personnel. 
  • Maintaining currency and accuracy of the Permit to Work register. 
  • Facilitating communication with Operations and Maintenance to minimize disruptions. 
  • Overseeing removal of isolations and clearing of lock boxes upon completion of work. 
Qualifications and Experience: 
  • Experience in safety and health within heavy industry at a trade level. 
  • Knowledge and experience with permit issuing highly desirable. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. 
  • Proficiency in report writing and analysis. 
  • Demonstrated teamwork abilities. 
  • Excellent computer literacy. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
