Job description

The Opportunity 

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract. The role will be based in Melbourne CBD and will report to the Senior Project Manager working on large scale integration projects with multiple suppliers. 

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of solution changes and enhancements including hardware, software and infrastructure. Planning is done in close coordination with multiple parties including relevant government agencies and key subcontractors. 
Delivery of projects covers the full project life cycle, starting from planning through to design, software development, field installation, back office development and configuration and final commissioning ready for public use. 

Responsibilities include; 
  • Project Integration Management
    • Identifying stakeholders and responsibilities 
    • Developing an integrated project plan and all relevant project artefacts
    • Plan and track progress
    • Perform post-project reviews
  • Project Monitoring and Control
    • Utilise existing PMO systems and process to approve project work 
    • Document results and outcomes including completion of deliverables
    • Identify issues and change requests and manage project scope changes
  • Project Schedule Development
    • Produce a baseline schedule using MS Project
    • Report progress to PMO
    • Conduct ongoing analysis of variances and forecast the impact of changes 
  • Client and Subcontractor Management 
    • Set, manage and communicate project expectations to clients and key stakeholders
    • Liaise with key clients on an ongoing basis
    • Manage subcontractors, including preparation of commercial statements of work 
  • Team Management 
    • Lead team to complete tasks and ensure team is clear of project foals and deliverables
    • Communicate with local and remote team members on a regular basis
  • Commercial 
    • Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with contractual obligations to the client 
    • Conduct impact assessment of new variations to project proposals
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate; 
  • Project management experience 
  • Certificate in project management - PMP or Prince2 preferred
  • Experience reporting on project financials and tracking actuals against budget
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision 
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills 
  • Experience delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders - local and offshore
