Job description

Location: Fremantle, WA as primary location, and Kwinana subject to operational requirements.
Employment Type: 2 to 3 days per week – 12-month contract
Hourly rate: $80.87 per hour +super

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Project Planner / Scheduler to support the planning, scheduling, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital and operational infrastructure investments. This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently on time, and within budget, from study through to execution.

About the Role

As the Project Planner / Scheduler, you will provide high-level project controls support, including schedule development, performance reporting, and governance. You’ll work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Cost Controllers, and Contracts Advisors to ensure alignment across all phases of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning tools.
  • Meet monthly with Project Managers to update schedules and track progress.
  • Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and integrate engineering, procurement, and construction activities into master schedules.
  • Produce high-level summary schedules for executive and stakeholder communication.
  • Conduct “what-if” scenario modelling to assess impacts of delays or changes.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain change logs and ensure accurate documentation of schedule modifications.
  • Link costs to activities for accurate cashflow forecasting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling standards and tools.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project planning and scheduling within construction or engineering sectors (marine or civil preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, OnePager, and Planview.
  • Strong understanding of critical path analysis earned value management, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in risk management, change control, and cost integration.
