ServiceNow Tech Lead_EL1
  • 18-month contract
  • Hybrid Working
  • Locations: Vic, NSW, ACT, QLD
We are assisting this Federal Government department in sourcing an experienced ServiceNow Tech Lead for their large-scale transformation program. The ServiceNow Technical Lead will be the conduit between business and technical teams, leading and supporting work to administer and develop the ServiceNow platform. This includes the design and implementation of both out-of-the box and custom solutions to meet business needs.

Must be an Australian Citizen with a Baseline Clearance!

The program will encompass a focus on business process re-engineering, data management, legislative compliance and replacing aging systems.

The role will involve:
  • Leading, managing and mentoring a development team, including setting priorities, allocating work, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Developing and maintaining development plans and schedules to ensure milestones are delivered are on time, within budget and are of a high quality.
  • In partnership with clients and other stakeholders, applying strategic and systems expertise to design, develop, test, and implement solutions (i.e. integrations, customisations and/or enhancements) 
  • In collaboration with IT and business teams, developing best practices for ServiceNow development, assisting to document knowledge transfer materials and uplift agency
  • Performing regular performance testing, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure system stability.
  • Liaising with technical teams and business area staff to facilitate the rapid resolution of issues and/or faults within fielded ServiceNow applications and modules, and those still under
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of ServiceNow by monitoring and keeping abreast of new ServiceNow features and functionalities, and providing recommendations for development, process and systems
  • Liaising with vendors, business areas and IT Branch staff as required to mitigate delivery risks and issues and remove
  • Working as part of an Agile project/program team or business as usual area as directed.
  • Performing other duties as directed from time-to-time by Directors/Team Leaders or a delegate.
The successful applicant will bring:
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor a development team to deliver quality results on time and within budget using Agile
  • Proven hands-on technical lead experience working across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and acting as the conduit between business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and integrations using best practices and standards, including ITSM, ITOM and
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and customising ServiceNow modules, workflows, forms, and scripts.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring system health and proactively addressing any issues to minimise
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft development practices, platforms and technologies (i.e. Office 365, SharePoint and Azure DevOps).
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to distil technical information in plain English to communicate with
  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering results to a high quality, within time constraints and with competing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth Government frameworks, including the ICT frameworks.
It is highly desirable that applicants hold:
  • Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Information Management, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline.
  • Industry recognised ServiceNow certification, such as ServiceNow Certified Administrator (CSA), ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITSM (CIS-ITSM) or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT frameworks, such as ITIL and
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale ICT transformation projects/programs, preferably in a Commonwealth Government setting.
