Job description

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Technical Writer to join a Melbourne based organisation on a 6-month basis commencing asap.  This role will be a hybrid work from home and in the office and will be paying $900 per day.

Reporting into the Commercial Director, the Technical Writer is responsible for developing detailed documentation in response a large-scale IT tender response. This role will be critical in supporting technical and non-technical teams within the business.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather information from technical subject matter experts to develop detailed documentation to address tender requirements.
  • Develop a strong understanding of systems and services to translate complex information into simple, well written and engaging content.
  • Research, write and organise information in a professional and credible manner.
  • Conduct interviews with the Technical and Delivery Teams to gather the solution information necessary for each response.
  • Prioritise responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Edit and revise proposal responses according to feedback.
  • Maintain consistency in proposal writing by following instructions set by the Proposal Manager.

You will demonstrate;
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to translate between non-technical business users and technical IT resources.
  • Strong systems development methodology, project management, system architecture, and analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written documentation in a timely manner and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels.
  • Able to assess and identify IT and business challenges from a broad perspective.
  • Strong client service attitude and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business.
