Job description

Our State Government client is seeking an AO4 Business Assurance Officer for a temporary assignment supporting business assurance, quality management, and complaints handling functions. This role can be based in Brisbane CBD or Chermside.

About the Role

The Business Assurance Officer will support the advancement of internal business assurance processes by assessing conformance, monitoring reporting accuracy, and ensuring the effectiveness of key controls. The role also provides support across quality management, complaints handling, communication, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with business assurance activities, including assessing process conformance, performance, reporting reliability and key control effectiveness.
  • Maintain the QPulse compliance system, including licensing, distribution, and controlled document updates.
  • Provide quality management advice and guidance to staff and supplier organisations.
  • Manage the statewide compliments and complaints process, including monthly reporting and facilitating meetings.
  • Conduct complex complaint investigations on behalf of senior management.
  • Promote improved operational practices and effective communication to reduce future complaints.
  • Monitor and manage correspondence and phone enquiries, ensuring timely responses.
  • Support continuous improvement and enhancements to policies, processes and procedures to strengthen efficiency, performance, and customer experience.
  • Facilitate change by communicating system or process alterations clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
  • Ability to understand how business systems, user operations, and supporting processes interact to deliver high-quality assurance outcomes.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes and recommend effective business improvement solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders, business assurance teams, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering accurate and timely business assurance activities.
  • High-level written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional documentation and present to groups.

Highly Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Adobe Pro, advanced MS Word, and intermediate MS Excel.
