We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented APS5 Internal Review Officers to join a dedicated team in Geelong on a 12-month labour hire contract. This role involves undertaking reviews of decisions regarding funding and access approvals, ensuring that fair and transparent outcomes are achieved.
Working under limited supervision, you will manage a caseload of review requests, applying relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines to deliver timely and high-quality decisions.
The role ensures fairness and integrity in decision-making by guiding individuals through the review process, upholding their rights, contributing to continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with legal and procedural frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with participants/applicants to gather information about review requests.
- Communicate decisions, review outcomes, and appeal processes clearly and sensitively.
- Prepare evidence-based recommendations and decisions aligned with legislative and policy requirements.
- Manage and prioritise a caseload of internal reviews to meet timeframes.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities that enhance service delivery and efficiency.
- Sound understanding of disability services frameworks, policies, and rights.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess evidence and make fair determinations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Awareness of issues affecting people with disabilities and sensitivity in supporting their needs.
- Qualifications in law, social work, psychology, disability studies, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in disability services, case management, or legal studies.
- Previous experience in the disability or social services sector, particularly in case management, advocacy, or decision-making roles.
